An almost final version of Internet Explorer 7 has just been released by Microsoft. Release Candidate 1 is “virtually complete” and only a few minor bugs that they know about are left to fix.
After installing it today and having a “play” it seems ok so far. I have come across a very strange javascript error on an application that uses the Scripaculous AJAX widgets, but i’m looking into that.
The interface looks totally different from the old IE 6 and may take a little getting used to. Especially if this is the first time you are installing it (ie having not installed the Beta versions). However, it probably won’t tear me away from Firefox as i’ve used it for so long now it would be strange without it!
I will be reviewing the Flock browser soon so stay tuned for that. It looks like a really good Firefox substitute!
