Google Adsense clarifies policy on images near ads

For a while now, I’ve always thought that it was ok to have images displayed near to Google Adsense ad blocks, as long as there was a distinct separator between them such as a border or line etc.

Well it seems Google has changed their policy, or at least made it more clear. You can not have any images near to an Adsense block that look like they have something to do with the ads.

For example, this is not acceptable:

This is going to be very interesting because so many sites I visit use this technique. There will be a lot of hasty re-designs going on I’d imagine!

    When the news broke, I thought I might be in contravention of their rules, but there was no way I was going to change, given the layout of my ‘blog pre-dates the inclusion of AdSense.

    However, I seem to be fine, which is just as well since my advertising revenue via AdSense is slowly beginning to creep up…

    As far as I can see your blog looks fine, there are no images next to your Adsense blocks.
