Whilst browsing the various CSS site showcase galleries I sometimes come across a website that stands out from the rest. I have decided to have a “Showcase Friday”, for want of a better phrase, and this first one is an excellent example.
Everything about this website is nice, from the colours in the header image, down to the little details like the reflections on the RSS, XHTML and CSS icons. It’s a shame I don’t speak whatever language the site is in but it doesn’t really matter.
Let’s start with the header.
I love the use of colour, especially the rainbow/star thingies behind the grass. The only thing that I don’t like is the grass. It looks too “washed out” and I would have made it darker. I like the cloud images and the stroke around the logo is perfect to make it stand out.
The body background image fits well too with the pastel blues and the nice gradient at the top.
Small details make a site great. Look at the footer for example. Those diagonal ribbon things have been around a while but this on just looks right. The white text on the green footer is a little hard to read but that may be just me.
Overall a very nice clean looking site using a very modern looking colour palette. Full marks to this web designer.

I believe that you’ve found out my blog on one of the CSS galleries and you couldn’t understand the content because of not speaking Turkish. It’s a blog about web design and my daily life.
