Hiring a web design company

Web Design

You’ll see by performing a simple search for “website design” in your favourite search engine that there are a lot of web design “companies” out there.
In my opinion, there are a certain set of factors you should look for when you are looking to hire for your next website project.

Writing a website design proposal

Web Design

Website design companies sometimes have to write a website design proposal. This can be for a client that has put a request in to more than one web design company. To stand more of a chance of getting the work, your website design proposal needs to be well written.
What should be included in your website [...]

Using Cheatsheets in your web developing

Web Design

It would be great if we all had photographic memories, but sadly, not a lot of us do. With that in mind, I find myself looking back at past projects or quickly searching the internet when I have forgotten a certain function in ASP, or CSS code or whatever.
This is where cheatsheets come to the [...]

Learning PHP

Web Design

When it comes to building websites in PHP, I’ll have to admit I know next to nothing about it. All my web designing career has been using classic ASP.

Here’s a screenshot taken from the [...]

The diagonal stripe element in website design

Web Design

You’ve all seen websites using diagonal stripes for a while now. You only have to look at designmeltdown to see he has 3 pages dedicated to this style, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Looking at the many more CSS design galleries, you will come across this over and over again.
How long will [...]

Free website templates

Web Design

I came across this site today that is a collection of free css based website templates. Looking through the available designs there are some real nice ones.
Obviously there are some not so good ones but that’s what you’d expect.
These types of sites are great for beginners and experienced designers alike. A nice place to get [...]
