Substance Designer Clothing is a small men’s designer clothes shop based in Ormskirk, Lancashire.

Matt from Substance came to us because at that time, he was selling stock on Ebay as an extra income from the shop sales. Although selling quite a few items a month, he was getting frustrated with the Ebay and Paypal fees, plus the constant questions from potential buyers.

Solution

Matt set specified a colour scheme and layout for his website. He wanted his logo and colour scheme to match his off-line literature and brand image.

After agreeing on the initial design we developed the website and incorporated the 3rd party e-commerce shopping cart “Candy Press”.

Matt’s online presence is now fully managed through his website, instead of his old Ebay store. He has a full administration system to manage all orders, customers and products.

After 18 months of trading designer clothing on ebay I became frustrated with the ridiculously increasing fees taken from my hardly fought profits. Websites had always been a future option but many fear factors (including a tight budget and restricted knowledge) had forced me to persevere with ebay.

Fortunately for me help was just around the corner. Ben Snape of BPS Designs had been a customer of mine for several months so I began to ask his advice on the issue at hand. Within the month I had a website made to measure. Every detail on the website was run through myself so that it had a really personal feel to it and so that it catered for mine and the shops needs. After finalising everything on the site Ben showed me how to do everything from adding pictures,text and how to advertise my site most effectively.

I have now been trading for many months and I now look back and wish I had made the move a lot sooner. My website is turning over sales on a regular basis without churning out big money advertising with the likes of google, and I can keep my website up to date quickly and easily although I must say there is more than enough help and advice at hand from Ben if I come across any difficulties.

I would recommend Ben and BPS Designs to anyone who’s thinking of sticking their business on the World wide web and are apprehensive as to cost and time because for me the whole experience has been a walk in the park.
