Yahoo and Paypal have just announced that on Yahoo sponsored search results, a blue shopping cart icon will be displayed next to sites that accept Paypal payments. Very similar to Google results that display an icon for their Checkout service. (via)

The main difference between Google Checkout and Paypal is that Google will hold all of your credit card information on their servers so you only have to input them once. Then when you are paying by Checkout, they already have all of your information.

This raises some concerns such as

• How secure is this data?
• Will Google be using your data such as what you purchased previously to “tailor” your search results for you?
• Its not a proven system yet whereas Paypal is.

Checkout has just been released here in the UK but I for one wont be using it just yet anyway.
