So, the new iMac has been revealed. They’ve gone for an aluminium effect with a flush glass screen. I personally liked the sleek white look of the iMac I bought but I suppose the aluminium look is quite nice.

I’ve also heard rumours that the new wireless keyboard needs a lot to be desired. There’s no keypad and special function keys and it’s super thin.

What are your thoughts?

The new iMac seems like a natural evolution on the original design. I kind of thought “cheap hifi equipment” when I saw it. Looks sleek though!

Hi Andrew, yeah it does seem like a natural evolution. I’ll wait until I see one “in the flesh” though.

I do like the flush screen!

Oooh, it looks like the keyboard is very low-profile, with the keys sitting as low, or almost as low, as the keys on my macbook pro. I’ve always disliked the “high and chunky” keyboards of desktop computers, so these low keys look fantastic, and much easier to use.

Hi Mel, yes they do remind me of laptop keyboards. I think I’m in the other camp. I like the chunky desktop feel so not sure if I like the new ones.

I may change my mind when I have a go of one though :)
